SEIFFE: Looking For Something To Do This Weekend? Why Not Try Becoming An Activist?Thursday, January 4, 2007 By Ralf Seiffe Conservatives
who understand the malignancy of the Kelo decision have a stellar
opportunity to make their voices heard when volunteers canvas neighborhoods
in Arlington Heights this weekend. Scott Bludorn is calling for all of us to
come to out this Saturday and Sunday to stop the village from seizing the
International Plaza shopping center and turning it over to another owner
because they will pay more in taxes. So, if you’re suffering from
post-holiday food coma or football famine, why not join others who are also
concerned about our rights and actively defend the Constitution? This
Saturday and Sunday, volunteers will go door-to-door in the village’s
neighborhoods to tell residents what their own village is doing. The
object is to ask four simple questions to determine which voters support the
protection of private property in America. If
you have never participated in grassroots politics, take this opportunity to
learn how it works. Scott Bludorn will provide a 10 minute training
session and send small groups of volunteers out into the neighborhoods.
Plan on less than three hours of walking the beautiful sidewalks of the
village with like-minded folks. Afterward, there will be what Scott
describes as a “rip-roaring” pizza party worthy of “real cool
activists”. Here
